VOIP users on the Mac often use more than one sound input and/or output for things like USB VOIP phones, chat headsets, microphones and such. This new hidden feature of
OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard
: Instead of using a third-party app such as SOUND SOURCE or SOUND MENU
(search www.versiontracker.com) -- or opening System Preferences, just
Option-click on Snow Leopard's Sound Speaker icon. Instead of the usual volume slider, you’ll see a list of available output and input devices; just select one to use that output or input device.
